Abstract

Femoral neck pseudarthrosis in a case of renal osteodystrophic coxa vara : healing after kidney transplantation and subtrochanteric valgus osteotomy. The authors report the evolution of a femoral neck pseudarthrosissecondaryto a coxa vara in a childwith renal osteodystrophydue to polycysticdysplasia.After kidney transplantation, despite normalisation of the kidney function, the coxa vara progressedfurther on the left side whereit was complicatedby spontaneous fracture of the femoral neck which failed to heal. Proximal femoral valgus osteotomy, as describedby Pauwels,healed the nonunion and achieveda general improvementof the axis of the leftlowerlimb.
